Mark depicts a young man at work carrying a large clay jug delivering or fetching water for the town. He walks barefoot with the help of a large bamboo cane staff, wears rolled up blue pants, and a traditional poncho. In the upper right corner Mark writes: "Guaduas, June 1846".
