It’s always a pleasure to hear that someone is enjoying the spaces created by the work that we do at Acoustics By Design. In this case, The University of Michigan’s newly renovated Schembechler Hall. The smiles were evident on the faces of everyone in attendance at the grand re-opening on April 4. Schembechler Hall houses all of Michigan football’s offices, locker rooms, training facilities and weight rooms, along with the updated Margaret Dow Towsley Sports Museum.
Acoustics By Design was brought in to provide audio-video support for the exhibits in the Towsley Museum, such as the Win Wall, with footballs for each of the program’s 910 victories, displays with artifacts highlighting the history of Michigan football and a Legends area. One of our most visible contributions to the AV Design is The Big House video monitor wall.
The Big House wall (pictured above) is a set of 15 displays, roughly nineteen feet wide. The displays can act independently or as one, and are controlled either by multi-touch (imagine a huge smart phone) or from a distance with gestures.
We pride ourselves in being experts in the fields of acoustics, audio, video, and specialty lighting design and consulting. We can be proud of our work, but when people get to experience an environment better because of the work we’ve done, it feels that much more special.
“(Schembechler Hall) is something to be proud of, no matter where you’re from. Even a Spartan can come in and be proud of that.”
